Sin dal debutto dell’opera “Kuroshitsuji” della mangaka Toboso Yana, si è sempre creato un dibattito (spesso acceso) tra i fan riguardo alla natura del rapporto tra il protagonista Ciel Phantomhive e il maggiordomo demoniaco Sebastian Michaelis, se di natura romantica o se cela qualcosa di molto più complesso.
Ma di Kuroshitsuji non vi è accenno da parte dell’autrice nel suo tweet più recente, dove parla di presenza di amore omosessuale in ambito generico.
Le sue parole sono le seguenti:
“Even if they’re stories that have homosexual romance (not just those with sexual love), what’s interesting is still just interesting, so what’s the problem? It’s weird how male couples are immediately labelled as “FUJOSHI”(fangirls che amano il genere Yaoi ndr.) and also weird how people will deny them. I think some deniers mean the romance is not the main point of the story, but there are so many wonderful stories about same-sex romance…”
La mangaka parla inoltre delle sue opere trascorse, di genere Boys-Love:
“In the past I wrote works with the main theme of boys-love(romance), and I was crushed by the overwhelming difficulty. Regardless of whether it’s opposite-sex or same-sex, I think works with a main theme of romance are incredibly energetic things. For me, the degree of difficulty is higher in writing romance than in drawing zombie battles or tanks.”
Mentre l’autrice non sembra vedere la sua opera come un boys-love, Kuroshitsuji presenta comunque molti elementi che possono ricondurre ad un qualcosa di romantico, anche se questa è una cosa del tutto soggettiva visto che il manga è ancora in corso di pubblicazione e molto deve ancora accadere.
